Quiller Evans Obituary

Quiller Gerard Evans died peacefully on May 9, 2024, at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento, CA., surrounded by family.  

Formerly from Sacramento, CA., Millington, TN., Atlanta, GA., and Peoria, IL. 

Quiller was the youngest brother of his 5 siblings. He was born on February 23, 1965 in Peoria, IL., at Saint Francis Hospital to Nathaniel Evans of Kensington, GA., and Betty Calloway of New Orleans, LA.

Quiller attended St. Boniface Catholic School, where he received his first Holy Spirit communion ceremony and was an altar boy. 

Quiller was a member of the Boys and Girls Club and Boys Scout of America.

Quiller attended Peoria Public Schools and graduated from Manual High School in 1984. 

Quiller was an Alumni of Manual High School Marching Band and a member of the drumline who played for Ronald Reagan and comedian Bob Hope in downtown Peoria on Nov. 3, 1980 just the day before the US presidential election. 

Quiller attended Illinois Central College and obtained his CDL certificate through ICC Truck Training Center.

Quiller's driving career jobs were with Amtrak,  Greyhound and Peoria Charter. He also held jobs as a delivery driver and security guard.

Preceded in Quiller's death were his parents Nathaniel and Betty, his brother Kenny Evans, his youngest sister Priscilla Evans, his maternal grandparents Hosea Calloway and Dolly Garrett, his maternal great grandmother Susie Seals, his maternal great Aunt Mary Seals, his maternal Uncle Leonard Garrett, his paternal Uncle Johnny Evans and his special Aunt Lela McDonald.

Quiller was a loving father, dear brother, cherished uncle, and a true friend.

Before Quiller's long-term illness:

Quiller enjoyed playing board games and cards,  listening to music, dining out, watching T.V., and going to the movies, park, and family/friend gatherings.

Quiller leaves behind his lovely daughter Cheyna Evans and her mother Miranda Brumfield of Sacramento, CA., his ex-wife Patricia Hatley of Millington, TN., his special friend Ruth Griffith of Sacramento, CA., his brother; Michael (Paris) Calloway of Chicago, IL., and his sisters; Jovita Calloway of Sacramento, CA., and Consuela Evans of Peoria, IL., his sister in laws; Emily Evans and Carshay Evans of San Diego, CA., his nephews; Kenneth, Christopher, Adam, Mark, Joshua, Matthew and Michael Jr., his nieces; Aleasha, Celissa, Sjone, Ameia, Chelsea, Elizabeth, Mia, Justine and a host of grand nieces and nephews.

Quiller also leaves behind his loving Godmother Pamela Johnson and his dear Aunt Della Evans.

The Cremation Service was June 14, 2024
