Mark was proud of his Hawaiian heritage, and through his father John, descended from the formal Kamehameha family from the Royal Court of Kamehameha III.

Mark is survived by his life partner and best friend of 37 years, Jeffrey P. Simonsen, California, three sisters and one brother: Michael Miller (Cheryl), Utah ; Sheila Earle (Alec), Nevada; Cheryl Miller (Rigo) California; Sharon Silva (Tony), California.
