Con profunda tristeza y una fe inquebrantable en las promesas de Dios, anunciamos el fallecimiento de José Leonel Rangel Diosdado, amado esposo, padre, hijo, hermano, tío y amigo, quien partió a la presencia del Señor el 26 de mayo de 2026 a la edad de 47 años.

Leonel nació el 26 de marzo de 1979 en Irapuato, Guanajuato, México, y creció en el pequeño pueblo de La Joya de Calvillo, donde vivió hasta los 13 años de edad. Posteriormente emigró a los Estados Unidos junto con su familia, estableciéndose en Dayton, Oregón, donde pasó sus años de adolescencia y se graduó de la preparatoria.

Después de graduarse, Leonel dividió su tiempo entre Oregón y sus viajes a México. Fue durante uno de esos viajes cuando conoció a la mujer que se convertiría en el amor de su vida, Verónica. Su relación llevó a Leonel a mudarse a California para comenzar una vida juntos. Contrajeron matrimonio en noviembre de 2001 y compartieron casi 25 años de amor, dedicación y compromiso familiar. Aunque vivieron por un corto tiempo en Oregón, regresaron a California en 2004, donde establecieron su hogar y criaron a su familia.

Leonel trabajó en el área de construcción y jardinería (landscaping), una profesión que reflejaba su gran ética de trabajo, determinación y compromiso para proveer a su familia. Enfrentó cada responsabilidad con orgullo y fue conocido por su dedicación, confiabilidad y disposición para trabajar arduamente por aquellos que amaba.

Por encima de todo, Leonel fue un esposo y padre ejemplar. Su mayor alegría en la vida era su familia. Fue un amoroso esposo para Verónica y un orgulloso padre de Natalie, Ashley y Stacy. Ya fuera llevándolas a la escuela, al trabajo, a actividades deportivas o compartiendo tiempo juntos, siempre estuvo presente para ellas. Fue su proveedor, protector, ejemplo a seguir y su mayor apoyo.

Leonel amó los deportes desde temprana edad. Durante su etapa escolar participó en fútbol, béisbol y baloncesto, y su pasión por el deporte continuó durante toda su vida. Disfrutaba jugar en ligas dominicales de fútbol junto a sus amigos y siguió siendo un apasionado aficionado. Apoyaba con orgullo al Club América, a los Golden State Warriors y a los San Francisco 49ers, y rara vez perdía la oportunidad de ver competir a sus equipos favoritos.

Leonel también disfrutaba dar largas caminatas por las tardes, una rutina que se convirtió en una parte importante de su vida en los últimos años. Sin importar si hacía sol o llovía, era común verlo caminando por su vecindario como parte de su compromiso por mejorar su salud y mantener un peso saludable. Su esposa, Verónica, y en ocasiones sus hijas, lo acompañaban en estas caminatas, creando momentos sencillos pero muy especiales que hoy atesoran con cariño. Estas caminatas reflejaban la determinación, disciplina y aprecio de Leonel por los momentos tranquilos de la vida.

La música también ocupaba un lugar especial en su vida. Disfrutaba escuchar música de artistas mexicanos y compartirla con quienes lo rodeaban. Una tradición que mantuvo desde su adolescencia hasta la adultez fue ver WWE los lunes por la noche, una afición que más tarde compartió con sus hijas. Esos momentos sencillos se convirtieron en recuerdos entrañables para su familia.

Hombre de profunda fe, Leonel fue un católico devoto que vivió sus creencias con humildad y convicción. Su fe guiaba la manera en que vivía: con compasión, generosidad y una constante disposición para ayudar a los demás.

El 26 de mayo de 2026, la vida de Leonel tomó un rumbo inesperado tras un trágico accidente. Rodeado de su amada familia, partió en paz para encontrarse con el Señor después de sufrir una grave lesión cerebral.

Leonel será recordado por su noble corazón, su sonrisa contagiosa, su sentido del humor, su lealtad inquebrantable y el amor que brindó a todos los que lo conocieron. Tenía una manera especial de hacer que las personas se sintieran bienvenidas y valoradas. Su legado vivirá para siempre a través de su familia, su fe y las innumerables vidas que tocó.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Verónica; sus hijas, Natalie, Ashley y Stacy; sus padres, María y José Rangel; sus hermanos, Yanet Villa, José Rangel y María de Jesús Ramírez; así como numerosos sobrinos, familiares y amigos que lo extrañarán profundamente.

La familia desea expresar su más sincero agradecimiento a todas las personas que han brindado oraciones, apoyo, donaciones, alimentos, mensajes y compañía durante este difícil momento. Estamos especialmente agradecidos con todos aquellos que nos han acompañado durante el novenario y que han caminado junto a nosotros en la fe, el amor y el recuerdo de Leonel.

With profound sadness and unwavering faith in God's promises, we announce the passing of Jose Leonel Rangel Diosdado, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2026, at the age of 47.

Leonel was born on March 26, 1979, in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, and was raised in the small town of La Joya de Calvillo until the age of 13. He then immigrated to the United States with his family, settling in Dayton, Oregon, where he spent his teenage years and graduated from high school.

After graduation, Leonel divided his time between Oregon and visits to Mexico. During one of those trips, he met the woman who would become the love of his life, Veronica. Their relationship eventually led Leonel to move to California, where they began building a life together. They were married in November 2001 and shared nearly 25 years of marriage filled with love, dedication, and family. Although they briefly returned to Oregon, they ultimately settled in California in 2004, where they remained and raised their family.

Leonel worked in construction and landscaping, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic, determination, and commitment to providing for his family. He approached every responsibility with pride and was known for his reliability, dedication, and willingness to work hard for those he loved.

Above all else, Leonel was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was a loving husband to Veronica and a proud father to Natalie, Ashley, and Stacy. Whether driving his daughters to school, work, sporting events, or family activities, he was always present and willing to help. He was their provider, protector, role model, and biggest supporter.

Leonel loved sports from an early age. As a student, he participated in soccer, baseball, and basketball, and his love for athletics continued throughout adulthood. He enjoyed playing in Sunday soccer leagues alongside friends and remained a passionate fan throughout his life. He proudly supported Club América, the Golden State Warriors, and the San Francisco 49ers, rarely missing an opportunity to watch his favorite teams compete.

Leonel also enjoyed taking long evening walks, a routine that became an important part of his life in recent years. Whether rain or shine, he could often be found walking through his neighborhood as part of his commitment to improving his health and maintaining a healthy weight. His wife, Veronica, and at times his daughters, would often join him, creating simple but cherished moments together. These walks reflected Leonel's determination, discipline, and appreciation for life's quiet moments.

Music was another passion of Leonel's. He enjoyed listening to Mexican artists and sharing that music with those around him. One tradition that remained with him from his teenage years into adulthood was watching WWE on Monday nights, something he later enjoyed sharing with his daughters. Those simple moments became cherished memories for his family.

A man of deep faith, Leonel was a devoted Catholic who carried his beliefs with humility and conviction. His faith helped guide the way he lived his life—with compassion, generosity, and a willingness to help others.

On May 26, 2026, Leonel's earthly journey came to an unexpected end following a tragic accident. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed peacefully and was called home to the Lord after suffering a severe brain injury.

Leonel will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and the love he showed to everyone around him. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed and valued. His legacy lives on through his family, his faith, and the countless lives he touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica; his daughters, Natalie, Ashley, and Stacy; his parents, Maria and Jose Rangel; his siblings, Yanet Villa, Jose Rangel, and Maria De Jesus Ramirez; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, donations, meals, messages, and companionship during this difficult time. We are especially grateful to all those who joined us during the novenario and have walked alongside us in faith, love, and remembrance.
