Humberto Angulo Gutierrez 

December 22nd, 1935 - September 14th, 2024


Humberto Angulo Gutierrez was born on December 22nd, 1935 in the mountains of Sinaloa Mexico outside of Mocrito. His parents were Francisco Gutierrez and Celerina Angulo who both died when he was 3 years old. He was the youngest of many siblings including Eduardo, Martín, Max, Alma, Reyna, Trini, Blanca, Mary and there were possibly a few others. His older sister Blanca took care of him until he was 9 years old then he ran away and lived on his own in the streets surviving off of banana peels. When he was 16 he joined the Mexican military and was the world's youngest paratrooper at the time because he lied about his age and told them he was 18.

Years later he moved to Mexicali, Baja California Mexico where he met his wife Maria Eugenia who was originally from Magdalena, Sonora Mexico. In Mexicali they had their first 2 children, Veronica and Jacqueline, in the early 60s. In the mid-60s they moved to San Jose, California and had their third child Jose who was the first of their children to be born in the USA. Humberto lived in various cities in California throughout his life such as El Centro and Los Banos but spent the most years in San Jose and then ultimately West Sacramento in the late 90s where he finally bought a house and was where he resided until his death on September 14th, 2024.

In the 60s, 70s and 80s he attended many trade schools to hone his skills in welding, architecture and mechanics and spent many years in those professions as well as a self-employed tow truck driver for many decades. He enjoyed working on cars, drafting blueprints, watching action movies and shopping at Home Depot.

He outlived his wife Maria Eugenia who died in 2020, his daughter Veronica who died in 2021 and his son Jose who died in 2022. He is survived by his daughter Jacqueline, his grandson Jaime, his granddaughter Alyssa and his great-grandson Ronnie.

His body will be interred at Woodland Cemetery and he will be buried with the ashes of his wife Maria Eugenia Gutierrez and his son Jose Humberto Gutierrez. 

The funeral will be held Thursday September 26th 2024 at 12pm at Woodland Cemetery - 800 West St, Woodland CA 95695
