With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Frank “Butch” Joseph Azevedo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Frank passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026 at the age of 86 with his family by his side. Frank reunited with his son Jeffery and many family members in heaven.
Frank was a resident of Elk Grove, CA where he attended and graduated from Elk Grove High School.
Frank and Beverly met in 1959 and later married. They were married for 65 years. They had four boys: Todd, Jeffery, Frank Jr. and Joseph. In 1975 Frank built their family home in Wilton, CA.
Frank watched his family grow to include six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He cherished the time spent with his family. He was a good friend and mentor. He trained co-workers and his sons to learn skills, work hard, and be proud of their accomplishments.
Frank worked for the City of Sacramento in the Water Department where he retired in 1999 after 29 years of service.
Frank had many interests that included renovating cars, hunting, and travelling with his family and friends.
Franks was proud of his Portuguese heritage. He supported and participated in the Portuguese festas. He proudly walked with the flag in the festas parades along side his sons, granddaughters, family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption (OLA) Catholic Church, 5057 Cottage Way, Carmichael, CA 95608. A hosted reception to celebrate Frank’s life will immediately follow at OLA St. John’s Hall. The Family will have a private inurnment.
