In Loving Memory
Destiny Elizabeth Navarro-Somatis
“Dezzi”
January 15, 2008 – May 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness and hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Destiny Elizabeth Navarro-Somatis — our beloved Dezzi — who was called home on May 7, 2026, at the age of 18. She left this world far too soon, but the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone around her will never fade.
Destiny was born on January 15, 2008, the oldest of three sisters, and from the very beginning, she wore that role with pride. She was the eldest daughter raised by a devoted mother who gave everything she had for her girls, surrounded by the love and support of a close-knit family. Dezzi was her mother’s greatest source of pride and her sisters’ greatest protector.
Still attending high school at the time of her passing, Destiny was a young woman on the edge of a life full of possibility. Those who knew her described her as sweet, caring, and thoughtful — someone whose heart was bigger than any room she walked into. She had a natural tenderness toward children and animals, and she adored every moment spent with her family.
Like any young woman finding her way, Dezzi had her spirited, rebellious moments — but beneath it all was a soul of remarkable goodness and respect. She had a heart that knew right from wrong, and those who raised her could always see it shining through. She was growing into someone truly extraordinary.
Dezzi had a zest for the simple joys of life. She loved swimming, splashing in the water with the freedom only she could embody. She adored animals, especially her beloved dog Kovu, who was her constant companion. She had a soft spot for Hello Kitty, a love that never wavered from childhood into her teenage years. And to the delight of anyone who knew her, she had an undying devotion to Hot Cheetos — a snack that perfectly matched her bold, bright spirit.
Above all else, Destiny was family. She was the heartbeat of those who loved her, and her absence leaves a silence that words cannot fill. She is gone from our sight, but she is woven into every memory, every laugh, and every moment her family holds dear.
She is survived by
her beloved mother; her two younger sisters;
and her cherished extended family who loved and helped raise her.
