Cynthia Louise Torres, 64, of Sacramento, CA., passed away on April 18, 2025. A
loving devoted mother to two daughters, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth,
kindness, and unwavering support. She was born in Sacramento, CA. on October 9,
1960 to Dewey Brown and Patricia Brown.
Cynthia was a true example of strength and resilience; especially during the many life
challenges that came her direction. She dedicated herself to the State of California as
an Analyst for 35 years before retiring to pursue her dreams of moving to Las Vegas,
NV., and traveling more. She had a courageous spirit and a heart of gold, always
putting others first. She found joy in caring for others, traveling to new destinations,
visiting relatives, and she loved to do arts and crafts in her spare time.
Cynthia’s presence touched the lives of many, leaving an enduring impact on all who
had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished by those whose lives
she graced with kindness and warmth. May her spirit continue to inspire and bring
comfort to all who remember her.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband David Torres, brother Timothy Brown,
mother and father Dewey and Patricia Brown, and granddaughter Samantha Booth. She
is survived by her daughters Jennifer Oseski and Valerie Rhodes (Dakarai Sr.),her stepson David Torres Jr., her
brothers Dewey Brown and Gary Brown, 5 grandsons Jonathan, Richard, Dakarai Jr.,
Stevie, Klyde and Dominic, as well as many other extended family members. She will
be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Viewing and Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Peter - All Hallows Parish, 5501 14th
Ave, Sacramento, CA 95820, on May 6th, 2025, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow
at St Mary Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento, CA. 95820.
