It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Roberson, who departed from this world on May 7, 2025 at the age of 72 after her battle with congestive heart failure. Betty was a cherished member of our community, known for her sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
Born to high school sweethearts Lee Andrew Russell and Charlene Holmes, Betty was born in Synder, Oklahoma where she spent her early childhood years. She later moved to Sacramento, California. Betty attended Burbank High School when she met and married Eddy C. Roberson and had three children. Betty graduated from Burbank High School in 1969 and began a career in nursing.
Over the years Betty enjoyed spending time with family including her five grandchildren and her great grandchild. Better lived at Sacramento Manor Apartments where she developed life -long friendships with many of her neighbors and community members. While there, she was committed to cooking for others and often sharing a meal with family and friends. Betty was a social butterfly and always kept friends and family laughing with her numerous jokes, witty personality and gifted ability to recall stories from the past. She was unique in all fashions.
Betty is survived by her eldest child Angela Roberson, her brothers Ricky Taylor, Derek Grant, Kevin Taylor, Josh Russell, Chucky Taylor and Walter Hollis Jr.; her sisters Sherry Taylor and Jill Russell, her Aunt Juanita Gay, Uncle Clifford and Lynn Hutcheson, and Uncle Kenneth Henderson; grandchildren Cassandra, Crystal and Christoher Roberson-Hicks, Aaliyah and Davion Gaffney, great grandchild Rue Yancey and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Lee Andrew Russell and Charlene Holmes, her husband Eddy C. Roberson and children Erika and Cassandra Roberson.
Family & friends are invited to share in celebration of Betty’s life on Tuesday, June 10th from 11:00AM – 12:00PM at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95822. ADA Accessible.
After the memorial, guests are invited to stay for the Repass located in the Reception Room at Harry A. Nauman & Son, 4041 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95822.
