Dawn C. Wheeler-Schulte, born on September 25, 1946, in Sacramento, CA, passed
away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 77.
Dawn lived her entire life in Sacramento. She graduated from Luther Burbank High
School and spent her career serving the State of California as a State employee for
over 30 years. She retired as Chief of the Business Procurement Branch of the DMV.
Dawn was blessed with 3 children, many grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and
many neighborhood kids to call her own. Dawn was known for her tough exterior but it
was evident she had a big heart which she used caring for others. Her love of animals
was apparent as she spent much of her idle time caring for her dogs, cats and birds
throughout her years.
Dawn is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dennis D Schulte, and her
parents Donald Wheeler and Lottie Stamblesky-Wheeler. Dawn is survived by her
children, James (Tina) Schulte, Cindy (Robert) Swanson and Tracey (Steve) Ballard, as
well as 12 grandchildren; Christina and Stephanie Schulte, William Alexander, Britney
(James) Bloom, Tyler Silvia, Robb and Sami Swanson, Vincent, Jacob and Erin Chelini,
Erika and Michael Ballard and 2 great-grand daughters, Enjoli Swanson and Willow
Bloom. Dawn is also survived by her brothers, David (Patricia) Wheeler and Ronnie
(Marlene) Wheeler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial will be held at St. Marys Cemetery in Sacramento, CA. where she will be
laid to eternal rest with her husband, Dennis Schulte
