He was born in 1961 to Ken and Evelyn, becoming the proud fifth generation of the McKay legacy. Growing up in Elk Grove, CA, Chris lived the California dream, embracing the vibrant spirit of the West Coast throughout his life. From his early days, Chris had a special bond with his Noni, and their connection extended across continents as they shared unforgettable moments in Italy, including a visit to the Vatican. This experience left an everlasting impression on Chris, shaping his wild and free-spirited approach to life. Chris was a man who knew how to connect with people in a special way, forging deep and lasting friendships with each person he encountered. His unique ability to make those around him feel cherished left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to call him a friend. An adventurer at heart, Chris lived life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity for fun and excitement. He was a thrill-seeker, enjoying motorcycle rides, fast cars, skydiving, and conquering whitewater rapids. His passion for the horse races was evident, as he never missed a chance to revel in the excitement of the track. For the past 23 years, Chris took immense pride in being a longshoreman, cherishing the camaraderie and sense of belonging within the brotherhood. His dedication and commitment to this profession were unwavering, making him a respected member of his community. When not working, Chris could often be found on the water, indulging in his love for fishing and boating. He was known for casting a line even while on duty at the port, showcasing his unwavering passion for the sea. Chris had a protective nature that extended to his family and close friends. He was always there, ready to lend a listening ear and offer a helping hand. You could always go to Chris with any problem, and he would provide comfort and support without hesitation. In matters of the heart, Chris was a romantic from a young age. He married Brenda Parks at 18 and, after their paths diverged, he embarked on significant relationships that included Selena Rucker, with whom he spent many years and welcomed their daughter, Rainah. In his later years, he shared adventures and created lasting memories with his girlfriend, Aniessa. Chris also possessed a remarkable sense of humor, recording funny videos, and leaving behind humorous notes and quotes that brought joy to those around him. His wit and charm brightened the lives of many and will be cherished as part of his enduring legacy. Chris McKay is survived by his father, Jack Walker; children, Shawn McKay and Rainah Rucker; siblings, Kelly Reynolds, Kimberly McKay, Rosie McKay, Kenneth McKay Jr., Steven McKay, Chuck Walker, Mike Walker, Marty Walker, Steve Walker, and Dan Walker. He had one deceased brother, Andy Walker, and sadly lost his mother, Evelyn Walker, last year. Above all else, Chris cherished spending time with his beloved children, Shawn and Rainah, and his grandchildren, Jordyn and Coltyn. He took great pride in being a McKay, and his love and guidance made them proud to carry on his legacy. Chris McKay's larger-than-life presence and infectious spirit touched the hearts of many. His memory will live on in the stories and cherished moments he created with friends and family. He will be deeply missed, and his absence will be felt like no other.
